ZOW 2010 brings together the Industry in East Westphalia
Despite the cold weather, snow and ice, the ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design, which took place in Bad Salzuflen between 8 and 11 February 2010, was extremely well attended. 663 exhibitors from 35 countries attracted a considerably higher number of trade visitors to East Westphalia during the four days than in 2009. The number of admissions, which came to around 19,000, was higher than for a number of previous ZOW events. In addition, a further 11,500 visits, most of which occurred on the third and fourth day of the fair, were made by exhibitor teams visiting their suppliers.

Exciting trade fair double act in Istanbul
All roads lead to Istanbul, where the second ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design is taking place at the same time as the premiere of Z-TEC, a new machine trade fair organised by SURVEY, between 1 and 4 October. The Furnifab – Furniture and Accessories Show is the special supply fair for the seating and upholstery furniture industry in Central and Eastern Europe. After a new date had been set for the “Furniture Poland” fair in PoznaÅ„, rescheduling the next edition of Furnifab PoznaÅ„ seemed inevitable: instead of March 2010 it will take place earlier from 17–19 November 2009. In fact this new situation is quite favourable for FurniFab.

ZOW once again to be held in the Expocentr
In 2009 ZOW will return to Moscow for the third time and again run in the Expocentr at the same time as Mebel. Between 23 and 27 November around 150 exhibitors from Russia and abroad will present their best new products for surfaces and fittings, elements and systems, semi-finished products and materials. In November 2008 more than 12 500 visitors from the furniture and interiors industry were impressed by the innovative approach of this unique supplier show which is setting trends on the Russian market with its workshop concept. A similarly large number of visitors is expected in 2009.

The ninth ZOW in Italy is taking place at the Veronafiere exhibition centre from 21 to 24 October 2009. The sales situation is looking very promising indeed, with over 200 exhibitors having already registered for the second ZOW in Istanbul from 1 - 4 October 2009. They include major Turkish supplier companies such as Kastamonu Entegre, Yildiz Sunta MDF, Starwood, AGT, Roma Plastik, Samet and Cebi Kilit. ZOW in Shenzhen attracted 8000 trade visitors
Shenzhen is the booming city in Southern China. The launch of the ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design took place here from 19 to 22 March 2009 – at the same time as the SIFE Shenzhen Furniture Trade Exhibition. With 8000 trade visitors and around 40 exhibiting companies, the first ZOW got off to a good start. The visitors used the opportunity to find out about the current design trends in the supplier industry and to get to know ZOW. The event was characterised by high spirits, successful business and a pleasant atmosphere, laying the foundation for further positive development of the trade fair.

In January 2008, the ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design got off to an excellent start at the Istanbul Expo Center (Yesilköy) with 180 exhibitors and 14 000 visitors. The world famous ZOW trade fair concept was completely new to the Turkish market and went down very well. From 1 to 4 October 2009 the second ZOW in Istanbul will take place at the same venue. This year it will run in conjunction with the Furnitex supplier fair for the seating and upholstered furniture industry and a new machine trade fair, Z-TEC, which is organised by ZOW organiser Survey in cooperation with Deutsche Messe AG (Hanover).

ZOW 2009: Positive signals for the sector

ZOW, Trade Fair East-Westphalia , which ran from 9 to 12 February 2009, gave out lots of positive signals for the sector with its useful business contacts and plenty of interesting topics for the future. Featuring 619 supplier companies, the number of exhibitors was lower this year than in 2008, but this did not impair the quality of the trade fair. 15 200 visitors, around two thirds of whom came from German-speaking countries, came to Bad Salzuflen and once again made ZOW a business event and meeting place for the North and Central European market.

facing declining OEM business with furniture manufacturers as
individuals are cutting back on purchases. In concrete terms, this
means declines in sales in single and double figure percentages,
compounded by an increasing risk resulting from the critical credit
rating of individual customers. Commercial credit insurers are handing
out fewer credit notes and warnings from credit agencies are putting a
strain on people’s willingness to supply products if there is a long
payment period. The risk of non-payment due to bankruptcy is on the
rise and the resultant cautiousness is not beneficial to an all-round
positive business development. In this vicious circle, cost increases
are putting pressure on the market, which is making the situation even
worse.
At Haus Aussel: Where ZOW began
It all started with four supplier companies
It all started with the four supplier companies Berg, Döllken, Egger and Westag & Getalit. They put on a presentation about themselves and their product highlights at the Haus Aussel design workshop in the East Westphalian town Rheda-Wiedenbrück which was at that time the platform on the regional supplier industry showcased new ideas. It was as a result of the focus weeks, which were the first of their kind to focus on visitors from the furniture industry and interior design, that the industry came up with the idea of organising a trade fair just for the supplier industry of East Westphalia. A name for it was quickly found: there was a MOW in Bad Salzuflen, so the new trade fair was to be called ZOW.

The important topic of “lightweight construction” is put into focus at ZOW with an exhibition in Hall 22.2 that’s in a class of its own. Hall 19 at the ZOW trade fair East-Westphalia is about “logistics for the furniture industry”. Exhibition organiser Survey is inviting all interested exhibitors and visitors to the RFID factory and the logistics campus. The RFID factory is a project run by the Löhne-based software company “abaco Informationssysteme”, while the logistics campus is organised by the IWT Institute of Business Management and Technological Corporate Management of the Ostwestfalen Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Detmold.

The timing couldn’t be any better: the first ZOW in Shenzhen is running from 19-22 March 2009, during the 'busy' part of the exhibition season in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. The supplier fair for the furniture and interiors industry is running at the same time as the Shenzhen International Furniture Exhibition (SIFE) and the furniture exhibitions in Guangzhou and Dongguan. The SIFE is the exhibition for the Chinese high-end market and attracts more than 60,000 visitors to the aspiring economic hub on the Pearl River delta each year. Elite international suppliers at the JSWB: ZOW in Shanghai attracts a good 4000 visitors
ZOW in Shanghai, which took place in the JSWB Global Home Furnishings Center for the first time in September 2008, may have been modest in size but certainly impressed visitors. A selection of elite international supplier companies were represented at ZOW, including the likes of Hettich, Henkel, Huwil, Jowat, Moralt, Pfleiderer, Titusplus, Vauth Sagel and Ungricht. ZOW attracted a good 4000 visitors to the JSWB in Shanghai, and it was the trendsetter of the sector with its innovative range of products. Visitors praised the concentrated presentation at ZOW and were very taken with the attractive exhibition venue.

ZOW attracts large Crowds in Moscow: Furniture Supply Show 2007 for the first time at Expocentr
ZOW in Moscow, which was held at Expocentr for the first time this year in parallel with Mebel, was a complete success. 110 exhibitors at the show attracted nearly 10,000 visitors, which is a 100% increase compared to last year. Customers from the furniture and interior design industry took advantage of the opportunity to see all of the latest fittings, surfaces, materials and semi-finished products while the Russian furniture show was in progress. FKM 2007 Visitor Structure Audit: ZOW awarded Top Marks by Trade Public
ZOW - Zuliefermesse Ost-Westfalen [East Westphalia Supplier Show] - has once again received top ratings from its trade visitors. That's the result of the FKM (Gesellschaft zur freiwilligen Kontrolle von Messe- und Ausstellungszahlen or Society for Voluntary Control of Fair and Exhibition Statistics) official visitor structure audit. The independent audit society questioned more than 1,000 national and international trade visitors in the ZOW exhibition halls in Bad Salzuflen over all show days (February 26 - March 1, 2007).
More fittings and hardware - ZOW in Madrid 2007 extends its range
This year, the Spanish furniture suppliers' show, ZOW, enters its sixth year. From June 12 to 15, 2007, the "Salon de Componentes, Semielaborados y Accesorios para la Industria del Mueble" takes place in Hall 8 of the Ifema Exhibition Center in Madrid. Following on from the success of Architects' Day 2006, the next "ZOW - Zuliefermesse Ost-Westfalen" (East Westphalia Supplier Show) will include a dedicated Architectural Lounge with information for architects, interior designers and design professionals. Partners in the Lounge are the BDIA [German Interior Designers'/Architects' Union], the architecture journal DETAIL, Hanover-based iF International Forum Design and Material Connexion Cologne. The ZOW trade show takes place February 26 to March 1, 2007, at the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center.
Tomorrow's light-weight Furniture Solutions "lightweight.network" at ZOW 2007

This year’s ZOW – the Zuliefermesse Ost-Westfalen (East Westphalia Supplier Show) for the furniture industry and interior design sector – didn't just present a broad palette of the latest product developments. Trade visitors to exhibition halls 19 to 23 in Bad Salzuflen/Germany also had the chance to encounter design classics – and to win one! Five Vitra Lounge Chairs and Ottoman now have proud new owners.
Record Number of Exhibitors at 12th ZOW in Bad Salzuflen
ZOW has had a makeover. After a mere five and a half months of construction work, suppliers to the furniture industry were delighted to present their product innovations for the first time at the extended and modernized exhibition center in Bad Salzuflen from February 20 to 23. More than 700 exhibitors from 39 different countries and about 16,000 international trade visitors made this - the biggest get-together so far for the furniture supply industry in East Westphalia - another successful event.
Traffic Congestion during ZOW 2oo6
Regrettably we were faced with exceptional traffic congestion on the second day of this year's ZOW show. We would like to apologize for this unpleasant situation even though the problems in question were in no way the responsibility of SURVEY, the event's organizer. In spite of further improvements to the infrastructure around the fairgrounds it was impossible to prevent the trouble from arising.
Must-visit furniture event in Moscow
ZOW Moscow, which was originally to be held in April, has been put back to November 23-26, 2006. The furniture supply trade fair for the Russian furniture industry is therefore being staged for the first time in parallel with the most important Russian furniture trade fair, Mebel (November 21-25, 2006). ZOW is again being staged this year in Pavilion 57 of the All-Russian Exhibition Centre (VCC) in Moscow. In 2007, the event will move to an exhibition hall at the VVC which will be newly-built for then.
